Admission and Enrolment Conditions
Submission of Applications
Applications are submitted directly to ISLA-Santarém, according to the previous designation of phases and application deadlines.
The phases and the deadline for submission are set annually by the Director, the Scientific-Technical Council and the Pedagogical Council, and as provided by the legislation in relation to the date of its commencement and are communicated to the General Directorate of Higher Education and disclosed on the website of ISLA-Santarém.
Registration and Enrollment
Candidates placed at a certain ranking should make their registration and enrolment into seven working days of the date of publication of placement lists, under penalty of forfeiture of the obtained result in the admission exams. For purposes of enrollment, international students are required to submit documentation required by law as regards the residence permit.
Admission and Enrolment Conditions
International Students may apply admission and enrolment in the cycles of studies:
- When being holders of a qualification giving access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting the passing of an educational program and give them the right to apply and enter higher education in the country that it was awarded;
- When being holders of a diploma in Portuguese secondary school or equivalent degree.
The International Student who wishes to attend a Degree in accordance with the law and applicable rules of procedure must hold a qualification / diploma that allows him/her to apply for and enter in higher education in the country of origin.
Diplomas and certificates referred to in the previous point are to highlight the circumstances of issue reliably and must be authenticated by the Portuguese Consulate of the students country, or complemented under the Hague Convention and translated into Portuguese by a legal translator if they are not written in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.
To enter the undergraduate studies the international student must do a diagnostic test through the internet the country of origin:
- In Quantitative Methods and Management Basics in the case of the Degree in Commercial Management;
- In Quantitative Methods and Management Basics in the case of the Degree in Human Resources Management
- In Quantitative Methods and Management Basics in the case of the Degree in Business Processes and Operations Management
- In Quantitative Methods and Management Basics in the case of the Degree in Management Information Systems
- In Quantitative Methods and Concepts of Physics or Concepts in Chemistry in the case of the Degree in Work Safety Engineering
Manuals to support the study preparation for exams will be made available to international students after enrollment in the respective course.
After passing the diagnostic test the international student is able to formalize in Portugal, according to the given time schedule, the application to our undergraduate studies, upon submission of the required documentation and subsequent conduct of the entrance test.
In the case of Brazilian students the entrance tests are not required upon presentation of a certificate of ENEM (the Portuguese classification scale runs from 0-200 and 0-1000 ENEM, for the purpose of ranking, conversion of classifications is done by dividing the score obtained in ENEM in 5).
The specific entrance test as follows:
- It focuses on matters of admission exams set for the cycle of studies concerned, under the general regime on access and enrollment;
- The written exams are conducted in the language or languages in which classes will be held.
- Within each cycle of studies is created an Assessment jury which is composed of two members of the Technical- Scientific Council, the Course Director who must produce, approve the written and oral examination, evaluation criteria, as well as overseeing the due examination process and also decide on the validity of the documents presented by the candidate in compliance with this regulation and applicable law.
The knowledge of the language in which the course is taught will be verified; particularly the Portuguese if that is the case.
